I feel so extremely lucky to live in what I consider the most beautiful area in the world, Lake Wanaka. Every day I am spoilt for choice on how to fill in my days when I am not working on planning celebrations. Wanaka and its surrounding  areas offer a plethora of locations to explore wether it be on my mountain bike, horse, paddle board, foot or 4WD.

There are umpteen number of beaches around the lake I can paddle board to and soak up the sun while engrossed in a book. I love following my partner up crystal clear rivers and streams spotting trout and then playing the game of trying to get the beautiful creature to take the fly. I am not very good, but Paul is an expert ( a fishing guide for over twelve years ) and he always manages to catch what I can’t!!

There are not one but five ski fields on our door step to ski my wee heart out in the winter and if I feel like a bit more of an adventure there is over 600 runs to chose from in the back country by exchanging the chair lift for a helicopter.

With Mount Aspiring national park a twenty five minute scenic drive from my office, I can walk to a ancient glacier through a native beach forest and be back in town in time for wine -o-clock at 5pm. Not to mention the easy to access huts and day walks that take you on a journey of discovery with breathtaking view at every bend in the track.

I am not wanting to gloat that I have made such a great decision to call this stunning part of the world home, I am simply wanting to share that there is so much to do outside of creating a celebration that you too will be spoilt for choice!!

Take 90 seconds to have a look for yourself

Happy Days x
